I am a Swiss designer, currently studying Visual Communication at the Zurich University of the Arts. Alongside my studies, I work as a freelancer with a focus on motion and digital design, mainly in Zurich and Bern. I thrive on curiosity. Whether it is exploring new software or exchanging ideas with others. Collaboration and mutual support became an important part of my work and often spark in new solutions.
The OH Catalog provides a clear overview of more than 80 original woodcuts and lead engravings from the Officina Helvetica printing house and makes them accessible to the public. The aim of the project is to systematically document, catalog, and digitally publish the collection of lead engravings and woodcuts. As a freelancer, I contributed to the project and was responsible for the motion design concept.
The original foundation of the typeface comes from a specimen book published by the Boston Type Foundry in 1860. The source, Pica Antique Extended No. 2, was reinterpreted during a type advanced module. Completely redrawn, expanded, and combined with a more contemporary, technical design approach. Since the historical source provided only the uppercase letters, the lowercase had to be developed more freely, drawing on additional references. Their character is especially influenced by contemporary typewriter like Arketa.
The Röfix typeface was developed in the Basic Type Design module at ZHdK, taking inspiration from the logo of the construction company Röfix. Over the course of the project, the glyph set was expanded to 180 characters, with plans for further extensions in the future. Special attention was paid to the umlauts, which give the typeface its distinctive personality. Designed to harmonize with the company’s existing visual identity, the typeface features custom characters that ensure a fully functional and contextually coherent glyph set.
Together with the team from d8d, we were selected to lead the redesign of the student organization website at ZHdK. Our goal was to significantly enhance the user experience and achieve an AAA accessibility rating, ensuring the site is fully usable for all students. I developed a comprehensive UI library from scratch, designing everything from individual buttons to larger components and the overall site structure. The d8d team handled the development, implementing micro-interactions and creating a wide range of CMS collections to ensure easy maintenance and keep the website up-to-date for years to come.
In the Branding and Identity module at ZHdK, we were tasked with extending the branding of the Basel-based techno club Nordstern. Our concept introduced a brand character called Noctur. A mascot that guides visitors through the night. Appearing across the club’s visuals, it embodies and communicates the club’s values. Combined with animated 2D visuals, the new branding creates an immersive club experience.
